Please note that I have traveled by Tamil Nadu Express in August, 1977 from New Delhi to Vijayawada in just 23 hours. Then, it was a morning departure train @ 7.00 am and interestingly the train covered Delhi to Agra 195 kms in just two hours. That train has limited stops vuz. Jhansi, Bhopal Nagpur, Vijayawada and Madras. Two technical halts for food service were @ Amla and Balgarsha. I have observed at Nagpur that on the rear sides of the coach, it was painted as " This Bogie is fit to travel @ 160 kmph"
Please understand that the speed @ 160 kmph was there in Indian Railways some forty six years ago. The present campaign of Indian Railways that trains speed @ 130 or 160 kmph is just an eye wash and misleading public statements.
Idi regular train ayyindi no. 16367, journey times less one & half hour this route compair to other trains. And price rs.100/- less all classes compair to other trains.
